Batavia is one of Jakarta old name which has strong influence from Dutch. The Dutch visitor arrived in Sunda Kelapa port for doing the spices trading. Spices were high demand in Europe and the most precious goods for them. In 1618 the Dutch won the battle and took the Jayakarta (Jakarta before) and named it as BATAVIA.
